Playtime with Daddy

I couldn't decide on one picture to post, so here's the collection.
Emmy had fun playing with Daddy night as the sun was starting to set. I love the lighting in the evenings this time of year. Our little girl is such a delight, she is starting to babble SO much more. As I write this, she is supposed to be napping but instead is laying in her crib saying, "ba ba ba ba ba ba ba" over and over again. She is starting to pull up on objects and is VERY proud of herself.

Happy Birthday Chris...and a Picture Post

Happy birthday to my husband and amazing father. We had a great time today celebrating the 7th anniversary of his 21st birthday.

Here are some pictures as of late:

Hope you all are doing well! Enjoy the sunshine Friday and the snow on Saturday.

85, 8pm and dinner.

Let me start off by saying this, I had no idea that geriatrics dined past 5pm. Did you?

Chris and I usually have dinner by 6pm, sometimes we wait until 7 when Emmy is in bed. But while on vacation this weekend, we (ohhh, minus Chris and Emmy...I'm on a sisters trip with my sister and friends)...OK, back to the topic at hand...dinner time. Ok, so we have been eating later in the day. Last night we had dinner at Michelle Bernsteins at the Omphoy. It was delicious, but I couldnt get over all of the gray hair at the restaurant at 9pm.

I guess south FLA is different from Tulsa in more than one way.

Here is view from our room. It has rained non stop since I arrived Thursday afternoon, the sun is supposed to be out Saturday. I have all 10 fingers crossed.

Look at these ducks at the spa, I think I need them for the pool this summer. Please note i say NEED not WANT ;)

My seester and me. I love her, she's the best big seester ever.

7 Months {emmy}

  • You love reaching for faces, necklaces, your pants, toes, hair....ANYTHING really.  But your favorites include grabbing at noses and chins.
  • Babbling sounds include hard consonants
  • We had your church baby dedication on 2/7/09.  You had lots of family and friends come to church that day, and then over to our house to celebrate.
  • You sleep 12 hours a night, from 630-630.  This is great b/c you are sleeping so much, but it has really limited what we are able to do in the evenings.
  • You are getting better at holding your bottle by yourself.
  • We've tried mum-mums (baby rice cakes) and you love them, we will try biter biscuits next.
  • You also like to hold onto and eat graham crackers, saltines, and really anything we put in your mouth.
  • Lately you have started reaching towards us to pick you up.
  • We have a great supply of toys for you, but your favorite toy is your toes.

first night away

I just spent my first night away from Miss Emmy, and I....survived! I am spending 2 nights in Elk City, OK for work and Chris has baby duty. I definitely miss my family, but a little break from everyday life has been nice too (I know the mama's out there can agree).

I really havent worried about anything. #1) I try really hard not to be a worrier and #2) I know she is in good hands. If I had a husband who wasn't involved in the everyday duties of raising a child, I would probably be worried. But I have such a supportive husband who helps so much, that I know things are just fine in Tulsa without me. In fact, it sounds as though things are better. Emmy ate her dinner really well, took her whole bottles and slept all the way until 645. Sidenote: 645 used to be the normal wake up time until RSV/ear infections. Since then, she has been waking up anywhere from 545-645.

Another sidenote, there is going to be a one hour episode of "The Office" tonight. I probably won't be able to watch it tonight, but will look forward to watching it with Chris when I get home (as long as he doesnt delete it!). Can't wait!
