35 weeks (Nora)

Can your tell which belly is Emmy? Nora?
I didn't feel like I had grown much since the 33 week picture, boy- I was wrong.

Her size: According to Babycenter, Nora should be 18.2" and weigh 5lbs 4oz.  We have another growth scan this week so will have a better idea after Wednesday.
How far along: 35 weeks with 35 days until the due date.
Total weight gain: +32.5lbs, about the same as last week.  I'm not sure how, I feel like I am eating all the time.
Sleep:  I have occasional trips to the bathroom, I try to limit my liquids in the evenings so I can sleep soundly!
Maternity Clothes: Um....yes.
Food cravings: The past day or two it's been chocolate milk.  It tastes good, doesn't add to the reflux and is cold.
Food aversions: Water....this is a bad one to NOT be wanting.
Symptoms: Nothing abornmal.
Stretchmarks: None that I can see.
Doctor’s Appointment: Will have growth scan on Wednesday and a checkup a week after that.  I had an appt this past week and all looked good, Nora was head down at the appointment.
Movement: I think she is still switching quite often from head down to.....i don't know what.  I just feel bumps all over the place and it feels like her feet are poking out of my back.
Belly Button: Poking out a little.
Best moment of the week: Surprise shower at work on Friday.  We are getting stocked up on diapers and wipes for sure.  And I was released back into the wild by my dr.  Her only advice, "no working out".  Hah.  ok, I think after 7 weeks of partial bed rest there's no way I could work out if I wanted to!
What I’m looking forward to: Not being fat.
What I miss: Not being fat.
Preparations:  Carseat is in the car and I have been doing laundry ALL day.  I can't believe how many little girl clothes we have....I have had a blast looking through them all and can't wait for Nora to wear them.

PS: Pic #1 is Emmy. #2 is Nora.

Emmy things...

Because I don't want to forget that...

  • she loves drawing circles
  • she is infatuated with her little hand broom and dust pan
  • she loves to chew gum and will chew it for an hour
  • she calls blueberries "blue bees".....or something of the sort.  Whatever it is, it's cute.
  • she has really taken to her daddy lately b/c I have been trying to rest, so a lot of things default to him
  • she wears a size 6 shoe mainly, her tennies are 7s
  • she sleeps about 9.5-10 hours at night and takes around a 1.5-2 hour nap
  • right now, she is sitting by the fire coloring so I can take a minute to blog
  • she has probably only gained about 2 pounds since her 2 year old check up, but is definitely thinning out
  • she has the cutest knock-knees (I think I've mentioned this one before?)
  • every Friday morning she gets donut holes with her daddy
  • her favorite songs include: The B-I-B-L-E, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Happy Birthday, Mary Had a Little Lamb
  • she can count to 10 easily, and we are working on 15
  • can say her ABC's and can recognize a few letters (mainly the ones in her name)
  • she knows how to push buttons and isn't afraid to do it
  • she wears me out in this 8th month of pregnancy, but the sweet kisses and hugs that she gives out completely erase any frustrations.

34 weeks {nora}

Up till now, I've just been doing updates at the same time that I had a belly shot with Emmy.  BUT...it's the weekend, I am getting bored with all the usual time-waster websites so I am going to do a 34 week update, sans belly.
Her size: According to Babycenter, Nora should be 17 3/4" and a little over 4lbs 12oz.
How far along: 34 weeks as of Friday.
Total weight gain: +33lbs.  Probably +1.5-2lbs since last week.  Hoping that weight gain is either water (b/c I feel like I am swelling a bit) or Nora catching up in growth.
Sleep:  Not too bad, usually wake up around 330-5am to pee.  Also keep waking up on my back which makes my lower back ache SO bad when I have to get out of bed.
Maternity Clothes: ALL maternity and digging through Chris' drawers to find size L tshirts.  Kind of depressing when his stuff is even too small.
Food cravings: Chocolate and cold things.  This is crazy, b/c I am normally not a chocolate person.  I mean, I enjoy it just as much as the next person- but I've never considered myself to CRAVE it.
Food aversions: Water....this is a bad one to NOT be wanting.
Symptoms: Nothing abornmal. Although I have noticed my swelling starting to increase, not terrible.  I don't have the best knees and have had on and off pain in both knees....right now my right knee is swelling like I have injured it.  But I think it's just regular pregnancy swelling.  Anyway, didn't experience this with Emmy and wanted to take note.
Stretchmarks: None that I can see.  But my stomach is starting to look a little stressed out.  Remember those hyper color tshirts from way back when?  Yeah, my stomach can do the same trick when I put my hands on there.  I think it's primarily from the Procardia causing my skin to flush.
Doctor’s Appointment: I have an appointment Valentines Day!  How sweet right?  It's also a 2pm appointment which means I will weigh in at least 1-2lbs heavier than morning appointments (starting to think now of what I can eat at lunch that doesn't weigh much but is filling....YES, I am that vain.).
Movement:  Plenty of movement...especially from 9pm until whenever I fall asleep. When she moves, I feel it everywhere so I honestly don't know if she's breech, head down or transverse.  We will see on Tuesday.
Belly Button: Poking out a little.
Best moment of the week:  Some sweet friends brought us dinner last night.  Outside of work, I have no social life so it was really great to feel like a social human being.
What I’m looking forward to: The next 6 weeks flying by.  Just ready to meet Nora.
What I miss: Working out.  Not like a big, intense, P90 meets Insanity meets Bootcamp workout....Just want to hop on the elliptical for a 20 minute workout.
Preparations:  The bedding is on the crib (which doesn't matter much since I'm sure we won't be putting her in there a ton until 2-3 months).  Hoping to get the carseat in the car soon and get the car cleaned out.

33 weeks {nora}

update time....
33 weeks on 2/3/12
What do you think about the belly?  I think they look almost identical.  Before I added the labels I had Chris guess, and he got them backwards.  Only difference?  I couldn't get my arm at the right angle for the Nora picture.  My elbow is not that fat, not sure what happened. hah
Her size: According to Babycenter, Nora should be 17" and a little over 4lbs 3oz.  However, we had a growth scan done at 32.5 weeks and she was weight in at 3lb 12oz which was at the 12th percentile for gestation age.
How far along: 33 weeks as of Friday.
Total weight gain: +30lbs.  Probably +1-1.5lbs since last week.  I'm pretty certain when I was pregnant with Emmy I gained 1.5lbs per week the last 2 months.  So if I carry Nora to the same point in time (39 weeks) I guesstimate my final weight to be 39lbs.  Yikes.
Sleep:  I shouldn't have silently bragged to myself about my great sleep last weekend b/c last week I woke up around 230-3am almost every night.  No biggie really, except that when I stand up I feel like there is a jaws of life machine in my pelvis stretching it apart.
Maternity Clothes: All maternity pants and skirts. I still have a few long tanks and tees (non maternity) that stretch over the belly.
Food cravings: Chocolate.  This is crazy, b/c I am normally not a chocolate person.  I mean, I enjoy it just as much as the next person- but I've never considered myself to CRAVE it.
Food aversions: Water....this is a bad one to NOT be wanting.
Symptoms: Nothing abornmal.
Stretchmarks: None that I can see.  But my stomach is starting to look a little stressed out.  Remember those hyper color tshirts from way back when?  Yeah, my stomach can do the same trick when I put my hands on there.  I think it's primarily from the Procardia causing my skin to flush.
Doctor’s Appointment: Had an appt on Tuesday.  Measured Nora since my fundal height had been measuring small.  She's at the 12th percentile which is little, but they don't consider baby to be small for gestational age until they drop below the 10th.  We will do another scan on the 22nd to see how her growth has progressed.  At that point, I'll almost be 36 weeks.  We haven't really discussed yet what we will do if her growth has slowed down- I'm sure we'll discuss.
Movement: Lots and lots of movement down low because little miss thing is BREECH! Oh how I wish this sweet baby would flip so that I wouldn't have a head pressing up against my ribs and boobs when I sit upright!
Belly Button: Poking out a little.
Best moment of the week: My best moments are when Emmy talks sweet to Nora.  It seems like that has increased over the past week.  She wants to give hugs, kisses, show Nora things and always has to say goodnight to her.
What I’m looking forward to: My next appointment.  Sounds weird right?  But I'm pretty sure that I've been going to the dr weekly since 28 weeks and I finally get a 2 week break from the dr.'s office scale (this could also be a bad thing though for my weight!)
What I miss: Being a normal, social human being who can go on errands unrestricted, go to church, do a few things around the house without worrying about causing too many Braxton Hicks contractions and carrying my daughter.  I say all this, but of course I will do anything and everything I need to do to let Nora cook a little bit longer inside.
Preparations:  The carseat is down from the attic and all inserts and parts are washed.  Just needs to go in the car.  Also...Nora's bedding came in today.  It's in the dryer right now and I can't wait to get it on her bed and snap some pics.
