37 weeks- Emmy is Growing, and So am I

Sooooo, here's the 37 week belly pic. Little Miss Emmy is growing, and subsequently so am I.
Chris and I are so excited to meet this little creature. To see her nose, her eyes, her hair, her fingers, her toes- you get the picture.

Yesterday 2 good friends at work threw me a shower. We got some REALLY cute girly outfits and some wonderful necessities. As a chip in gift, we got our Graco Sweetpeace Swing and the activity center (excersaucer type). The swing has an MP3 input- I can start playing a little Jack, Dave and Coldplay for Emmy early on. I'd hate for her to grow up on bad music! hah.

So for you moms out there, I know every baby is different. But what is the ONE newborn item you couldn't live without?

Sams Club

So I had a few things on my list for Sams today.
I came home with about 1/2 of those items, and about 5 additional items.

Why is Sams so hard to resist?

Emmy's Room

So I am A L M O S T done with Emmy's room. The only thing I have left to do is hang some things above the rocking chair....I'll show you when I'm done.

Most everything was finished, but we were waiting on the artwork. We ordered some prints by Yuko Lao called "Peek A Boo". We hung 6 pictures, but ordered a set of 12 prints. Chris and I think the other 6 prints are a little more masculine, so maybe if/when we have a little man- we can use them for him.

Here's the crib and pics above it.

Her changing table with ledge above. I need to get a wicker basket for the ledge to put the diaper rash ointment in, toys to keep emmy occupied during diaper changes, etc. This is the changing pad that I made, I don't know about you- but I like it.

Her bookcase, closet and 2 more prints. The black frame in the middle of the bookcase says "my fingers may be small, but I can still wrap daddy around them". My cousin Sara gave this to me at a family shower, I LOVE IT!
Her crib, my rocking chair, bare window and bookcase. The hanging stuff above the chair is missing- and we also need to get window treatments. We just haven't decided what to use yet. Well, I'm pretty certain we'll use blackout roman shades, we just need to shop around and find the right ones. I think I'll use some of the leftover material (from the bedding) to make a valance.
Changing table and crib.

Chris and I went to a Childbirth Education Class this morning, it was extremely beneficial and had some great information. We took a tour of L&D at the hospital and saw some little baby girls in the nursery. I think it has both of us THAT much more excited for Emmy Christine to get her. I can't wait to see what she looks like! Of course I hope she gets some great characteristics from her daddy, but can't wait to see what she'll get from me too. She's the first person that I'll know that shares looks with me- too stinking fun!

36 weeks...

So less than 4 weeks to go! Emmy's room is almost done, and I would like to be done too!

Chris has been working late this week so I tried to keep myself busy tonight by sewing. I made a cover for a little wipes case, a minky/cotton tagsies square and a cover for the changing pad.

I had registered for a changing pad but recently took it off when i found two 15x17 foam chair pads. They are 2" thick and I laid it out so the total changing pad is 30 x 17. I think it looks pretty good if I may say so myself.

Once the artwork comes in for Emmy's room- I will take pictures and post!

35 weeks....it's getting close

For those of you out there who might be anticipating my belly picture posts, this one (and subsequent posts) is for you. This is definitely not for me, I'm in shock how much difference 2 weeks can make. Yikes. What will the 37 weeks picture be like? I can't even start to imagine.

So over the next few posts, you'll be seeing alot of Colorado pictures. Every year, 3rd week of July, my family vacations in Granby, CO. I love it and look forward to it for weeks on end. Granby is about 30 minutes away from Winter Park. There's not much to Granby itself, just a little town with a few little shops and restaurants. We usually spend a good amount of time in Winter Park and Grand Lake. This will be my first year, in many years, to not be going on this trip. I'm so sad! But at least it's for a good reason, right? Instead of thinking about this year, I keep trying to imagine how much fun next year will be.

The following pic is atop the Zephyr ski lift at Winter Park. The weather was perfect. The sun is warm, the breeze is cool and nothing beats mountain air. Ahh....dreaming of colorado for another 12 months.

Picture Post

So just a few pictures to sum up the past few weeks/month.

The first- an action shot of the volleyball game on the 4th. This dresser was my grandma's. It is a wonderfully built oak dresser, and it was beautiful- but we just wanted to change it up a bit. This was our first attempt at creating that antiqued look, I'm fairly pleased with it. We practically have a whole quart of glaze left- so Chris better hide the furniture from me or else everything in the house is going to be antiqued!
This is Frank up at my parents. He is attempting to swim, but he kept putting his snout in the water while swimming. Too funny.

My nephew Jackson turned 1 in June, he gently- yet thoroughly dug into his cake!

Lastly- my car. I need to sell it. Do you want to buy it?

That's all the pictures for now. Hoping that here in a few weeks I'll have some more interesting ones to post (ie: Emmy). On Wednesday I reach 35 weeks, pretty hard to believe!
