Material for Emmy's bedding

So step 1 in completing Emmy's bedding is complete- picking out the material! Well, it's not really complete. I still have one solid colored material to pick out to match the patterns. I'm thinking about going with brown? I don't know, what do you think?

29 weeks

I somehow "forgot" to post a 28 week picture, so here's 29.

WOW, what a difference 3 weeks makes!

Not much else to report, I went back to work Tuesday- and I forgot how tiring it can be! I'm even slow getting back into the swing of things, I can't imagine if I had to jump right into it.

It doesn't help much that I'm getting sick. Chris went to the dr last week for the same thing and got some antibiotics. I'm not really sure there's much I can take, so is it worth it going? Near the beginning of the pregnancy I had been told I had a UTI and had to take 10 days worth of amoxicillin, 3x a day. I DO NOT think I could do that now!! In my dream world, I'd rather not have to swallow anything bigger than an ibuprofen. I do make an exception for the prenatals.

I still haven't heard back from my gestational diabetes test, weird. I go in tomorrow for my progesterone shot- so I'll check then.

Paintin the Town...err, House

We've had a busy Memorial Day weekend here at 3817 (first part of our address, it's what Chris and I have used to refer to the house). We did QUITE a bit of painting. Yes, I said "we" and don't worry- the rooms were plenty ventilated. Here are some before and after pictures of all the house things we've done lately. The first set of pictures is of the formal living room, Chris installed a ceiling fan/light where there previously was NOTHING. I love it! It's weird though, sometimes the light comes on by itself.

LIVING ROOM:

LAUNDRY ROOM: I don't have a before picture, but where you see gray- it used to be white. The gray paint is actually chalkboard paint, I can't wait to draw on it tomorrow morning once it's all dry!
OUR LOVELY MASTER BATHROOM: It once had a door going into the workout room (and our bedroom too, a miniature Jack and Jill type). Now there is no door, just wall. Thanks dear!

WORKOUT ROOM (NEW GUEST ROOM)-

The following pic is from the hallway looking in, the red part you see is the only accent wall. We will use the bedding that's in the following "Emmy's room" picture.

To the left of the non-working intercom is where there was a door leading into the master bath.

EMMY'S ROOM: Previously the guest room. When we first moved in, the room was VERY girly!

When it was the guest room:

On it's way to being the nursery, I will post pictures of the material swatches for the nursery bedding after I take some pictures. I think the color is called Toasted Honey? Or toasted something or other.

Well, that sums up our weekend. Back to work tomorrow morning, which means I should probably be in bed. Oh well.

5:45am

SO, it's official. As of May 26, 2009 I will be awaking to the awful sound of my alarm at 5:45am (aka- I'm going back to work). The bright side of all this- I will at most be working 11 weeks until Emmy girl gets here. Then I'll have another few weeks off!!! Wahooo.

This Wednesday marked 28 weeks which means I had the opportunity to drink my orange drink and then get blood drawn for the gestational diabetes test. Anyone know how long it usually takes for results? REALLY REALLY hoping I passed. I do NOT want to come back for a 3 hour fasting test.

That's about all the news I have. We're headed to Claremore here in a bit for Chris to go to the dr. I think he's hacked up 1 1/2 lungs so far, so we need to preserve the last half.

4d

Here's our little girl with her big cheeks. This is actually a rare shot, because for the majority of the 30 minute session- little miss thing had her feet up by her head- toes by the mouth- feet near the eyes, you get the picture. It was fun to see her in there moving, opening her eyes and mouth. Hard to believe we've reached the 28 week mark, only 12 more weeks to go. But to be truthful with you, I'm shooting for late July. I mean, really, who out there really wants to be pregnant in August? I have a dr's appointment tomorrow and will find out when I go back to work. I'm such a grown up, I need a dr's note to go back :)

27 weeks: T-91 days

So today I hit 27 fun filled weeks of pregnancy with 13 (or less) weeks to go. It's odd to think I've been away from work and resting for almost 10 weeks. I've been mostly OK with bedrest, but it kind of stinks that it was during my 2nd trimester. I know I would have LOVED the extra rest the 1st trimester, and now that I'm entering the third- I'm losing breath, energy, and digestive aid. Hah. Don't get me wrong, I'd be on bedrest for 40 weeks if that's what it took to make a healthy baby. But if I had my choice, I'd choose the 1st or 3rd trimester.

Enough ranting.

Has anyone out there ever made baby bedding? I'd really like to make Emmy's, but hoping it's not too hard. Once I pick out the material, I'll also use it on the curtains, some pillows for the rocking chair and maybe some burp clothes and swaddle blankets.

26 weeks

*Updated*- Dr's appointment went well. I was told to ease into returning back to normal events. Exercise is still on the NO list, which is fine. I think my goal this next week (starting Monday) is to wake up and get ready for the day like it was a normal work day. I also found out I'll be getting my $20/shot progesterone injections until 36 weeks. I had originally thought it was until 28 weeks, but alas- it's 36. I've had a feeling all along that the shots have been just as important and maybe more influential than the bedrest, so the shots continue.

My mom and girl relatives from the KC area are coming down this weekend, yay.

Actually, 26 weeks and 1 day- let's not forget that extra day!

I have a dr's appointment later today and will update after that. Only 2 weeks left of this bedrest thing. I am definitely ready to get out and see people and socialize (you know me) but I am NOT, I repeat NOT ready to get up early in the mornings. I wouldn't quite classify myself as a late sleeper, I'm just saying- I'd rather sleep in until 7 instead of getting up at 5:45.

Other than the dr's appointment today, life has been fairly uneventful (a good thing)

2 posts in one day?

Blog overload today, but I thought it'd be funny to put my weight/height chart on here. I need to find Chris' charts so I can do the same for his.

The first chart is for weight.
This second chart is for heigh.

What does this all mean? It means that when I was 3 years old I was in the bottom 3% for height and just above the 50th percentile for weight. Make your own assumptions =).

She's already spoiled

Just wanted to post a few more pictures of Emmy's recent wardrobe additions. She's already spoiled, and we still have +-14 weeks until we meet her (I'm really hoping it's -14, not +14).

Also, we had a nice surprise in the pool when we came home, 5 huge frogs were...I only wish it was that simple- There was water behind the liner! This CANNOT be GOOD! So that oh-so-cute swimsuit we purchased for Miss Emmy? Well, let's hope there's a pool filled with water that we can use!
Picture1: Outfits that Chris picked out. He figured every little girl needs a pair of Osh Kosh overalls (speaking of, at some point in time I'll post my Osh Kosh pictures). We also vowed we wouldn't buy pink for the girl, but its kinda hard to NOT find pink. Nothing against pink, we just knew we'd receive alot of pink from others.
Picture2: I didn't realize I had purchased so much green. I think my fave is the little easter onesie.
Picture3: I love love love the little romper with yellow flowers. I've been hesitant to buy yellow. If she gets my coloring, it will just make her appear jaundiced ALL the time. If she takes more after Chris, she'll look GREAT in yellow.

Back to work in 2 1/2 weeks

This past weekend I went to Branson with Chris' family. We ate WAY too much. We also got in some great shopping at the outlet malls. I absolutely fell in love with the Carter's store and would definitely like to hit it up at least once a year from here on out. I somehow managed to get alot of sitting in though, even thought outlet malls usually involve alot of walking. I hit the stores I was interested in and would sit in between and eat Moose Munch popcorn.

Just had to post some pictures of one of the MANY cute things I found for Emmy. I have been searching the past 8 weeks for a newborn swimsuit and couldn't find one. I'm thinking it's b/c you probably shouldn't take newborns swimming all that often? But, we have a pool and anything that's miniature in size is cute- so that justified needing a little swimsuit.
I should have put an object up to it for size comparison. But I think you can get the idea.
